"Herd" consists of seven electronic toy cows connected to a beef heart. The cows kick and moo in response to the heart as it decomposes. The heart is changed periodically during exhibition based on enviornmental conditions (eg. the temperature of the space). The heart is sealed in a jar so that no smell enters the gallery. Each heart is purchased at the local grocery store.
